Something to be Proud of by Anna Zoe Quirke was awesome! Imogen starts the Ardenpool Academy Activist Society in order to organise a Pride festival fully accessible to disabled and neurodivergent people. The group also works on getting gender-neutral bathrooms at their school.

This wonderful novel is full of activist joy. It also deals with daily difficulties like fundraising, filling in applications, facing the headteacher's objections... It's perfect for fans of Alice Oseman and Anna Meriano.

Imogen uses she/they, calls themself a chaotic bisexual and is on the autism spectrum. Ollie, the other POV character, is a gay Japanese British boy who gets to explore his gender non-conforming side. The main love story of the book is actually them becoming best friends! <3 In terms of romance, there's major f/nb. Clem uses they/them. Louisa is a Black girl diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos who often uses a wheelchair and sometimes a cane. Maryam is a hijabi.
