So Let Them Burn by Kamilah Cole was awesome! Faron is the heroine of the last war, as she can channel the power of the Gods. Her sister Elara dreams of becoming a drake pilot to protect their country from the Langlish colonisers and their dragons.

If you love the themes of To Shape a Dragon's Breath by Moniquill Blackgoose, you'll probably enjoy this novel as well, except that the former has an adult writing style and the latter has a YA one. I can't wait for the sequels of both books!

Elara is a lesbian and there's major f/f. Faron is on the aroace spectrum (demi, I guess) with a male love interest. Many characters are Black.
