The Wheel of Time Season 2

The Wheel of Time Season 2 was even better than S1. I haven't read the novels, so no book spoilers, please.

This is such an excellent fantasy show, with a complex worldbuilding and a detailed magic system.

I love how it's focused on women and/or POC. There's also some f/f and m/m/f (canon polyamory is still so rare in TV shows).

I really liked the second season as well, and haven't read the books, either. It manages to be a good ensemble show juggling multiple storylines and character arcs well. (Also it cracks me up when books fans write "but how can show only watchers possibly understand what's going on?" I'm a Babylopn 5 fan, book fans. We did multiple storylines and character arcs back in the 1990s without any books as basis. *g*)

Yes, I assume we're missing some details, but the show is perfectly understandable on its own. :-)

I am so happy to hear that you really enjoyed S2 and that you understood what was going on despite not having read the books. I fell in love with S1 two years ago and then read through the entire series, so understanding the major points and where it needs to go, I understand why things were changed for the adaptation.

The idea that the women have the power (for the most part) was what drew me to WoT in the first place and I totally adore how much emphasis has been placed on Alanna and her warders.

Season 3 is almost done with filming, so fingers crossed we get to see it without quite so long a wait this time. I already cannot wait!

Oh yes, I remember that you read all the books. Did you read the prequel too? Someone on my circle has just read it and it sounded very interesting.

Yes, I did read the prequel and absolutely LOVED it! A lot of it was incorporated into S1 and also there was a bit from it in S2.

I stopped watching in season 1 somewhere, can't remember why now. But I have been thinking of giving it another chance. I keep seeing stuff on tumblr that makes me think I would enjoy it.

Season 1 was a little slow, maybe that's why. But S2 has good pacing all along.

It's an Amazon Prime show. I took it for a month, which is why I'm catching up on everything there right now.

Glad you enjoyed it! I liked it a lot myself as well (i have read some of the books but forgotten most of them. I think the TV show is a great improvement on them).

From what I understand, the books are more subtext-y and they made the queer content actual text in the show.

the books are also more sexist and, hmm, flatter i guess. And more repetitive (omg so repetitive). But yeah also there was some queer subtext that became text in the show.
