Those Beyond the Wall by Micaiah Johnson
Aug. 18th, 2024 05:31 pmThose Beyond the Wall by Micaiah Johnson was excellent! It's the sequel to The Space Between Worlds, with different protagonists, but with the same multiverse technology. I recommend reading them in order.
This tome is a gut punch and an ode to BLM, even more so than the first one. If you love NK Jemisin's works, go for this story as well.
Ashtown has cool gender worldbuilding: all the runners are called Mr Something, so you have to wait for pronouns to know if they're male, female or enby. Mr Scales is a bi and poly woman, with m/f endgame. There's also side f/f and m/nb.
