Head Over Heelflip by Sander Santiago
May. 16th, 2024 05:31 pmHead Over Heelflip by Sander Santiago (One Verse Multi, my favourite 2022 novel) was awesome, as usual. In order to win extra points at the Colorado Amateur Street Sports Tour, Arturo marries his best friend Thomas on stage.
This is a stand-alone novel, but Thomas has already appeared in The Speed of Slow Changes, where his big brother Al is in an f/m/m/f poly relationship.
Arturo is trans, pan and possibly on the aroace spectrum (demi, I guess). Thomas is gay. The Major is non-binary. Several characters are POC.
The book mentions a skateboarding anime, which I assume to be SK8 the Infinity.
