Fake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee
Aug. 29th, 2023 05:36 pmFake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee was cute and fun. Dylan plans on participating in a Mid-Autumn Festival mooncake competition. He also has to fake date the cute Theo at his cousin's wedding in the Hamptons.
Dylan comes from a Singaporean family, Theo's mother was from Hong Kong. There are a few sentences in Cantonese and in Mandarin, but they're written in pinyin and are translated in-text.
My only issue is that Theo's family is crazy rich (it's kind of a YA version of Crazy Rich Asians) and that leads to some ridiculous scenes, like Theo flying to Singapore to get a special ingredient for Dylan. Ever heard of FedEx?! And what about the carbon footprint of that little stunt...
There's major m/m and minor f/f. It gets an extra point for referencing my favourite BL c-drama, Word of Honor.
