US politics

I recommend following General Strike US (not only about organising the strike, but also about many important social topics). Alternatives include 5 Calls and The 50501 Movement. If you prefer, they're on other social media as well.

UK politics

My thoughts go to the trans people suffering from the UK Supreme Court case widely funded by JKR. As they say, read another book: here's my queer magic school book rec list (also on Tumblr for reblogging purposes).

While I've tried to separate the work from the author's personal life and view, I've felt no compunction about dumping the Potter books into the donation sack. The taint of JKR's evil is too pervasive.

Well, separating the art from the artist is for dead writers, not someone who is currently spending part of her fortune to do evil.

I've heard of it, but I haven't read it. I have a bunch on my to-read list, there are more and more since JKR went Voldemort. Only a few were from before that.
