Mickey 17

Mickey 17 was excellent. Mickey is an Expendable, which means he dies for science, then gets cloned back to life.

The trailer made me think that the movie would be funny, but I found it more melancholy (not in a bad way), with just a few fun scenes here and there. The story had some interesting messages.

There's a sapphic (probably bi) minor character.

I was intrigued by the trailer to this! Which did indeed make it look pretty funny, but I can also see how the premise makes for some pretty existential commentary. I hear it didn't do well in theaters but no one goes to the theater these days for so many other reasons. I plan to catch it on streaming.

I think it was #1 on its release week, but with low-ish numbers.
