Running Close to the Wind by Alexandra Rowland

Running Close to the Wind by Alexandra Rowland (A Taste of Gold and Iron) was super funny! A spy, his pirate ex and a cleric with a vow of celibacy must discover the secret way to navigate the high seas during sea serpent breeding season.

Note that the spy is an acquired taste. He's very annoying to the other characters, and therefore to the reader as well. But he gets less annoying as the story progresses, or you get used to him, or a bit of both. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't miss out on the cake competition, the finale of the festival organised every year on the pirates' island.

There's major m/m/nb and minor f/f.

I also really enjoyed this book! The audiobook narrator did a really funny voice for Avra and the snippets of songs were hilarious. I loved the cake competition and the slow reveal that Avra and the pirates are all insane, just across the board bonkers.
