To Shape a Dragon's Breath by Moniquill Blackgoose
To Shape a Dragon's Breath by Moniquill Blackgoose was amazing! After being chosen by a baby dragon, Anequs must attend a school for dragoneers.
If you enjoyed Temeraire by Naomi Novik, especially the first book where we follow the young dragon growing up, you'll surely enjoy this too, maybe even more so. I also like that the book starts with a periodic table in addition to the usual map.
Anequs is Native American (facing colonisation is an important topic of the book), bisexual and polyamorous. Her love interests are a Black girl and a Native American boy and she intends to court them both in the future. Another boy is autistic and communicates through writing more often than orally.
