Redsight by Meredith Mooring

Redsight by Meredith Mooring was amazing! Korinna is a Redseer, a blind witch from the Order of Vermicula, who's going to serve as a spaceship navigator. Sahar is a Lightbender, a witch from the Order of Radiosa, who serves as a judge on a remote outpost. Aster is a Star Eater, an ancient witch from the Order of Furia, who's become a pirate to free her Goddess.

This is science fantasy, more specifically mythological fantasy in space. Somehow, I felt the vibe was kind of similar to The Unspoken Name by AK Larkwood. No orcs here, but Star Eaters can turn into giant snakes.

There's major f/f. Redseers are blind, and so is the author. This is a stand-alone, but I'm definitely looking forward to more from her.
